Porcelain veneersVeneers, by design.

A smile designed around the one you want. It starts with your photos, your goals and the shade you have in mind. Our dental lab designs it, you live in a prototype of it, and your porcelain veneers arrive in the shade you chose.

The Burkitt Center provides dental care and does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. Candidacy is determined individually.

The smile wall at The Burkitt Center

The smile wall at the practice: cases across implants, restorations and cosmetic work, not veneers alone. Individual results vary and are not a prediction of any specific outcome.

In their words

People choose this practice for how they are treated.

A smile is personal. Here is what a few patients said, unedited, from Google.

Dr. Will and his team are very knowledgeable and caring about your health. He will do only what is best for you. I drive seven hours up from Florida to have all my dental care here. I trust his judgement one hundred percent.

Emily I. · Google review

I had consults with several different places around this area. After talking with Dr. Will I was confident I had made the correct choice. The professionalism of the entire staff is far above any experience I have had with any other dental professional in the past fifty years.

Randy D. · Google review

My experience from the very first consultation through my first two procedures has been amazing at every level. I felt at ease with their candor and concern. Two procedures in and I am well on my way.

The process

What does a veneer appointment at The Burkitt Center look like?

Every smile is different, so the timing bends to you. Dr. Hayden typically leads veneer cases, planned together with the rest of our team. Here is how it usually goes.

First

Your design consultation

We take photos and records and talk through what you want your smile to do for you, including the shade you have in mind. The consultation is free.

Typically 2 to 3 weeks Then

The lab

Everything goes to our dental lab to design your new smile and its possibilities. It can move faster when there is a special occasion on the calendar.

Next

Your prototype smile

We prepare your teeth and you leave in temporaries, a working prototype of your new smile. You usually wear them for about a month. Live in them, and tell us what you would adjust.

Usually about a month later Finally

Your finals

Your porcelain veneers go in, in the final shade you chose.

Who does the work

Our team works together planning your case, in the same office on Nolensville Road, so you may see more than one of our doctors along the way.

Dr. Will

Dr. Will

He takes on the biggest cases here, full-mouth reconstruction and implants, and he is the only dentist in Middle Tennessee working with the Yomi robot. His father built the original practice in Nolensville.

Dr. Hayden

Dr. Hayden

Cosmetic dentistry is his side of the work, saving as much of your own tooth as he can. A Nashville native: if the dentist makes you nervous, tell him, and he will work through it with you first.

Dr. Ellie

Dr. Ellie

Her side of the work is restorative care, like fillings and crowns bonded to the tooth you still have. She takes the time to listen and explain every option. She is a University of Michigan grad.

Two ways to do this

Not every veneer needs your tooth filed down.

We do no-prep veneers, which take less preparation and less of your tooth material. Not everyone is a candidate for them, and we will not pretend otherwise to win the case.

When your teeth allow it

No-prep

Less preparation, and you keep more of your own tooth. Whether it works comes down to the size, position and shape of the teeth you already have.

When the case needs it

Prepared

A thin layer of enamel is prepared so the porcelain sits naturally. Some smiles cannot get where you want them to go without it. When that is true we say so, and we tell you why yours is one of them.

Which one you get is decided at the consultation, once we have seen your teeth, your bite and what you want changed. The price per tooth is the same either way, so nobody is steered toward the one that pays more.

What it costs

The number, before you come in.

Most people veneer the teeth that show when they smile. Here is what that runs, so you can decide before you spend an afternoon finding out. We are not the cheapest veneer in Nashville and we do not try to be.

The design consultation

Your smile, your bite and the health of each tooth, and a plain answer on whether veneers are right for you.

Free
No charge for the consultation

Per tooth

One veneer, whether it is no-prep or prepared. Same range either way.

$2,000 – $2,500
Lab, temporary and seating included
Most common

The teeth that show

The six to eight upper front teeth visible in a normal smile.

$12,000 – $20,000
Final fee set in your treatment plan

Every veneer case includes

  • A free design consultation
  • A plan naming how many teeth
  • Shade and shape chosen with you
  • Impressions sent to the dental lab
  • Temporaries you approve the look in
  • Fit and color checked before bonding

What changes between cases is how many teeth and how much preparation your teeth need. The care is the same.

Veneers are cosmetic, so most dental plans do not cover them, and plans that do contribute cap the yearly benefit. We check your specific plan before you commit to anything. Financing is available and we will show you the monthly figure at the consultation. Your final fee comes from your treatment plan, and treatment is quoted in full before it is scheduled.

Straight answer

When we tell people not to get veneers.

Veneers change the look of stains, small gaps, uneven edges and misshapen teeth. They do not fix what is underneath, and we would rather lose the case than put veneers over a problem.

Your bite is the problem

Severe crowding, or teeth that meet wrong, will keep working against the porcelain. Straightening first usually costs less and lasts longer than veneering around it.

There is decay or damage

A tooth with serious decay or a crack needs that treated first. Sealing a problem under a veneer is how people end up paying twice.

More than veneers can fix

If the teeth are failing rather than imperfect, porcelain on the front of them is the wrong tool. Full-arch implants are a different conversation and we have a page for it.

Common questions

Veneers, answered.

Does it hurt?

Your teeth are numbed before the preparation visit begins. How much sensitivity you notice afterward varies from person to person, and we talk through what to expect for your case at the consultation.

How many veneers will I need?

It depends on your smile and what you want to change. Some people choose one or two teeth, others the teeth that show when they smile. We plan the number with you at the consultation.

What if I do not like how they look?

That is what the prototype is for. After your teeth are prepared you live in your temporaries, and if the length, the width or the shade is not quite right, you tell us. Your feedback goes into your finals.

Will they look fake?

Only if they are made to. Shade and shape are chosen with you, and you see them in your prototype first. If you want them to read natural rather than bright white, say so at the consultation and we build to that.

How long do they last?

Porcelain is durable, and veneers are made to last for years with daily brushing, flossing and regular cleanings. How long yours last depends on your bite and your habits, and we go over both at your consultation. Individual results vary.

How do I care for them?

The same way you care for your teeth: daily brushing and flossing, and regular cleanings at the practice.

Not what you came for?

These are the other places to start. You can also say so at your first visit and we will point you to the right one.
