Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Last updated: June 17, 2026

The Burkitt Center for Comprehensive Dentistry ("the Burkitt Center," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit rethinkoralhealth.com or submit an application or inquiry through this website.

1. How this policy relates to HIPAA

Health information you provide once you become a patient, and information created during your care, is "protected health information" (PHI) governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable law. This Privacy Policy covers information collected through this website, including the application form, before and apart from the treatment relationship. Where the two overlap, the HIPAA Notice controls for PHI.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Application responses: answers about your goals, concerns, history, and scheduling preferences that you choose to share through the form.
  • Payment information: when you pay the application fee, payment is processed by our payment processor (Clover). We receive confirmation that a payment was made and limited details (such as your name and email); we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Communications: messages you send us by form, email, or phone.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and similar technical data, collected through standard web logs and cookies.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 5.

3. How we use your information

  • To review your application and prepare for your visit.
  • To contact you about your application, schedule a conversation, and answer questions.
  • To process the application fee.
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website.
  • To send information you request and, only with your consent where required, relevant updates from the practice.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the practice and this website, and as the law allows:

  • Service providers that work on our behalf under contract, including: our website host (Netlify), our customer-relationship and scheduling platform (GoHighLevel / HighLevel), and our payment processor (Clover). These providers may access information only to perform services for us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: see Section 5.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Cookies, advertising, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure performance, and, where enabled, to understand the effectiveness of our advertising.

This site may use advertising and analytics tools from third parties such as Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to measure ad performance and reach people who may be interested in the practice. We do not share protected health information with advertising platforms. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of certain interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction: you may ask us to access or correct the information you provided.
  • Deletion: you may ask us to delete information collected through this website, subject to records we are required to keep.
  • Marketing opt-out: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those emails, or by contacting us.
  • Do Not Track: our site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals at this time.

To exercise any of these, contact us using Section 11. We may need to verify your identity first.

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights: for example, the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We honor these rights where they apply; contact us to make a request.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here, to comply with our legal and recordkeeping obligations, and to resolve disputes. Treatment records are retained per the applicable medical/dental records retention requirements. Website inquiry data is retained for as long as needed for the purposes described above and as required by law, after which we delete or de-identify it.

8. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links
